SOME GENERAL POINTS FOR GOOD LABORATORY PRACTICE (GLP)Laboratory trainingTechnical staff should be well trained for the tasks they are to perform and supervised before being allowed to handle clinical samples. Training should include knowledge of potential hazards that various clinical samples present including the risk of aerosols and droplet formation. Microbiological samples should be processed away from other laboratory areas, particularly samples that carry a risk of viral transmission or tuberculosis.
All staff should possess a personal authenticated log of procedural competence.
